Computers stolen: BSMRSTU students form human chain

A group of students at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science & Technology University (BSMRSTU) has formed a human chain with a demand for all those involved in the theft of computers from the central library on the university.

The students under the banner of ‘The General Students of BSMRSTU’ formed the human chain was held in front of the main gate on the campus on Tuesday.

(BCL) activists Md. Jahangir Alam, Sheikh Tareq, Babul Sikder Babu and Fahad Sarjil spoke on behalf of the general students in the human chain.

They Said, “The names of all those involved in the computer theft should be made public and they should be brought to justice.”

Security guard Abu Bakr said, ‘On July 18, when the student named Pony wanted to enter the university, we first stopped him and asked for permission from the authorities. At that time he called an officer and told us that Pony was a university student and let him enter’.

Note that, 49 computers were stolen from the central library of Bashemurbiprabir during the Eid-ul-Azha holiday and later 34 computers were recovered from a hotel in Dhaka on the night of August 13. Police have so far arrested seven people in the incident.
